A Crunch Time database comprises the folder where the nx1 files are located, together with the Images subfolder where the screenshots are stored. To find out the location of the current database, you need to open the logsettings.xml file found in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Yohz\Crunch Time folder (on Windows XP and older operating systems), and C:\ProgramData\Yohz\Crunch Time\ folder (on Windows Vista and newer operating systems). The DataFolder element will tell you the location of the current database.

Changing the default database's folder
When you want to change the location of the database, first stop the Crunch Time Data Collector.
|
Then move the folder where the current database is stored to the new folder.
Let's say that you want to move the default database's folder from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Yohz\Crunch Time to E:\Crunch Time data\.
|
Next, you need to tell the Data Collector the location of the new database. You do this by changing the DataFolder element in the logsettings.xml file found in the root of the previous data folder.

Copying a database
If you want to copy the default database to another folder, or copy it to another machine for viewing, you will need to first stop the Crunch Time Data Collector. Then copy the current data folder, together with the logsettings.xml file to the new folder.
Restart the Data Collector once you're done. In the Reporter, you can then use this database instead of the default database by selecting the folder where you copied the database to, in the Connect dialog.
E.g. you want to copy the current database from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Yohz\Crunch Time to E:\Crunch Time data\Archive. You need to ensure that at the end of the copy process, you have the following in the copied folder:

|
Creating a new default database
You need to create a new database if you want to use a different password. This is because the password for an existing database cannot be changed. First, stop the Crunch Time Data Collector.
|
If you want to retain your old data, you then need to copy the database to another folder. See the topic above on how to do this. Next, delete the existing database, by deleting the current data folder. You will also need to delete the logsettings.xml file found in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Yohz\Crunch Time folder (on Windows XP and older operating systems) or the C:\ProgramData\Yohz\Crunch Time folder (on Windows Vista and newer operating systems).
Now, start the Data Collector, which will detect that there is no default database. The Data Collector will then automatically start the Setup Wizard which will then guide you through the steps to create a new database.
