Setup Wizard Overview
When
you run the Data Collector
for the first time, the Setup Wizard will run to guide you through
the process of creating a new database and also in setting up the
logging options.
Security
settings
|
|
Crunch
Time creates an encrypted database to store all logged information
in. You will need to enter a password, which will then be used to
encrypt the data.
|
Log frequency
|
|
Enter
how frequent the Data Collector should log your desktop activity.
|
Screen
captures
|
|
If you
want to also capture screenshots of your desktop activity, select
the Capture
screenshots item.
You can choose to store only the screenshot of the active window,
or the active window and its parent window when available, or the
entire desktop.
|
|
|
You
can also choose to take a screenshot of the entire desktop if there
are no active windows.
|
Image
settings
|
|
If you
are capturing screenshots, you can specify the quality of the image
to store. A higher quality results in better image details, but
results in a larger file.
|
Log
retention period
|
|
Enter
the period in days in which Crunch Time should store the logged
data and any logged screenshots.
|
Storage
settings
|
|
Crunch
Time will calculate the approximate space requirements based upon
your log settings. You can then enter the name of the folder you
want to store the database in.
|
Selection
complete
|
|
Once
you have completed your selection, click Finish to complete the
setup. The Data Collector
will create the database, and start logging your activity. When you
want to update your logging options, you can do so by selecting the
Options
item
from the Data Collector's context menu. See Modifying options for details.
