Crunch Time is a Windows application that periodically takes a snapshot of your computer activities, so that you may later review and analyse how
your time was spent. If you need to track your computer activities in detail, Crunch Time is just the app for the task. It’s perfect for people who need to
fill out timesheets or account for their working hours in detail.
With Crunch Time, you can:
review what you’ve been doing throughout
the day
view screenshots of your activities
analyse your computer activities
set up your own activity categories for
review and analysis
What exactly does Crunch Time do?
Crunch Time periodically records details of the active application on your computer, and takes a snapshot of the active window.
You can then later review and analyse how your time was spent, on which applications, and the exact task you were performing
by reviewing the saved screenshots. Crunch Time is not a keylogger application, and does not record any keystrokes you make.
Can anyone view the stored data/screenshots?
Data relating to your computer activities are stored in an encrypted database, protected by a password of your choce.
Screenshots are stored in an encrypted form too.
How is the activity displayed?
The stored activity details are displayed on a timeline. You can group the applications by process name, window caption or
category. You can also view, extract, and save the stored screenshots.
Can I view a summary of my activity?
Yes, the activity can also be displayed in summarised form, in the analysis window. You can view the total time spent per
group/category, with breakdowns for each day in the selected period, and for each day, the time of day that was spent on that
activity.
Can I define my own categories?
Yes. Crunch Time comes with a set of pre-defined categories for some popular applications and web sites. However, you are
free to add or modify these categories to fit your needs.
Can I define how frequent Crunch Time should log my activity?
Yes. You can define the interval between each snapshot, and also the retention period for the stored data and screenshots. In
addition, you can also specify if you want to store screenshots, and the image quality. All these options allow you to keep the
size of the stored data under control.
Can I use Crunch Time to track my kids’ computer activities?
You can, though if your kid is computer savvy enough, they can easily disable the application from running. Crunch Time was
not designed to be a discreet tracking software.
Does Crunch Time consume a lot of system resources?
No. The most processor intensive operation is in taking a screenshot of the active window and storing it in encrypted JPEG form.
Even on a netbook processor e.g. Intel Atom N270, this process takes less than half a second.
How much does it cost?
A single user license costs USD 10/-.
