{"id":1077,"date":"2020-12-02T11:30:38","date_gmt":"2020-12-02T03:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/?p=1077"},"modified":"2020-12-03T17:39:21","modified_gmt":"2020-12-03T09:39:21","slug":"redirecting-ole-object-linked-files-during-export","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/2020\/12\/02\/redirecting-ole-object-linked-files-during-export\/","title":{"rendered":"Redirecting OLE-Object linked files during export"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/siv8_details.htm\">SQL Image Viewer<\/a> 10.3, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/aole_details.htm\">Access OLE Export<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/sbe_details.htm\">SQL Blob Export<\/a> 3.18 we added the option to redirect where to look for OLE-Object linked files during the export process.<\/p>\n<p>A common issue when using OLE-Object linked files is that the location of the linked files have changed.\u00a0 For e.g. you may have previously linked files from the <strong>g:\\customer_invoices\\<\/strong> folder, but say those files have now been moved to <strong>g:\\archive\\customer_invoices\\2018\\<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Previous versions of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/siv8_details.htm\">SQL Image Viewer<\/a> will fail to locate these items during the export process.\u00a0 In version 10.3, you will now find a <strong>redirect<\/strong> button in the <strong>Image and File Options<\/strong> screen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1078\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/redirect.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"706\" height=\"621\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/redirect.png 706w, https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/redirect-300x264.png 300w, https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/redirect-624x549.png 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 706px) 100vw, 706px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/aole_details.htm\">Access OLE Export<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/sbe_details.htm\">SQL Blob Export<\/a>, you will find the <strong>Redirect<\/strong> button in the <strong>Options<\/strong> screen.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1082\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/ole_redirect.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"491\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/ole_redirect.png 563w, https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/ole_redirect-300x262.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 563px) 100vw, 563px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click on that button to bring up the <strong>Redirect<\/strong> window.\u00a0 Here, you can define how the old folders map to the new folders.\u00a0 For our previous example, we would enter the following:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1079\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/redirect02.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"604\" height=\"483\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/redirect02.png 604w, https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/redirect02-300x240.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now during the export process, when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/siv8_details.htm\">SQL Image Viewer<\/a> fails to find the files in the original folder, it will look to the redirection rules defined here and look in the new folder for the files.\u00a0 It will then export the files that it finds.\u00a0 You can enter multiple redirection entries, and each entry must be on a new line.<\/p>\n<p>Note that the redirection entries are essentially a search\/replace process.\u00a0 Anything entered prior to the redirection symbol (&gt;) is replaced with the value entered after the symbol.\u00a0 Thus, the entries are not just limited to redirecting entire paths.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fcbkbttn_like \"><fb:like href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/2020\/12\/02\/redirecting-ole-object-linked-files-during-export\/\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\" layout=\"button\"  size=\"small\"><\/fb:like><\/div><div class=\"fb-share-button  \" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/2020\/12\/02\/redirecting-ole-object-linked-files-during-export\/\" data-type=\"button\" data-size=\"small\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In SQL Image Viewer 10.3, and Access OLE Export\/SQL Blob Export 3.18 we added the option to redirect where to look for OLE-Object linked files during the export process.
