embedded data in OLE Object fields"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Do you need to update a batch of OLE Object fields, and you don&#8217;t want to have to update them individually using your application?\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/aoi_details.htm\">Access OLE Import<\/a> can help you with such tasks.<\/p>\n<p>We had a user that needed to update a few thousand rows in an Access table, specifically an OLE Object field that stores a zip archive.\u00a0 He already had all the zip files ready, but did not want to have to update each record individually.<\/p>\n<p>So in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/siv8_details.htm\">SQL Image Viewer<\/a>, the existing records show up as zip archives embedded in OLE Object packages:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" sizes=\"(max-width: 862px) 100vw, 862px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The user already has the new zip files he wants to update the records with.\u00a0 Using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/aoi_details.htm\">Access OLE Import<\/a>, he just needs to prepare an upload definition file providing the key field value (<strong>ID<\/strong> in this case) and the OLE Object column to update the contents for (the <strong>quotations<\/strong> field).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1516\" file.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1517\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/aoi_update22.png\" alt=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yohz.com\/aoi_details.htm\">Access OLE Import<\/a>.\u00a0 For e.g. if the user had wanted to update the address field, he only needed to enter the new values in the data file
