Using DICOM Search

Top  Previous  Next

DICOM Search reads and stores the DICOM tag values from images and stores them in a tags database.  You can then run queries against the tags database to search for images matching the values you require.

Each library has its own tags database.  You can use libraries to group your images into logical categories, or you can simply store all your images into a single library.

You can read images stored in databases, or images stored as files on your computer or on a network share.

Once your tags database is created, you can then run queries to search for images matching specific criteria.  If the images are located on disk, or if the images were extracted from your databases, you can then use the integrated viewer to view the images from your search results.

You can also export your search results to Excel spreadsheets or to text files.

In this help file, the tags table refers to the DICOM Search database used to store all the DICOM tag values from the processed images.
